Effective August 6, 2026
This page is for school administrators, technology directors, and privacy officers evaluating Speech Expedition for use with students. It's also for any SLP who's been asked what this tool does with student information.
The short answer: Speech Expedition collects no student data of any kind.
There is no student login, no student profile, and no student registration. Students never enter a name, email address, or any other identifying information. When an SLP types a player's first name into an articulation game so the screen says "Maya's turn," that name exists only in the browser for the length of that session and is never transmitted or stored.
Speech Expedition does not request microphone access and does not capture, record, upload, or analyze student speech.
I am developing automated speech-sound analysis as a future feature. That work runs only on my own computer and is not part of the deployed website. It has never been used with student voices. If it becomes part of the product, this page will be updated before it launches, and it will clearly state what is captured, where it is sent, and how long it is kept.
Scores, progress, and activity within missions and games stay in the browser on the device being used. Nothing about how a student performed is sent to a server or stored by me.
There is no advertising anywhere in Speech Expedition. There are no advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking. Nothing about student activity is shared with data brokers or marketing companies, because nothing about student activity leaves the device.
Only information about the adult who bought the product: an email address, subscription or purchase status, and billing records handled by Stripe. Nothing that identifies a student.
Because no student information is collected, created, or maintained, Speech Expedition does not hold education records under FERPA, does not collect personal information from children under COPPA, and does not operate as a student data operator under California's SOPIPA or comparable state student privacy laws.
I'm glad to complete a district vendor questionnaire or sign a student data privacy agreement if your process requires one. Email me.
Speech Expedition runs in a modern web browser and needs an internet connection. It doesn't require an app install, a browser extension, or administrator privileges. It can be installed as a progressive web app if you'd like a desktop shortcut, but that's optional.
The site is hosted on Netlify. Purchase and waitlist records are stored in Supabase. Payments are processed by Stripe. No other third-party services receive data from the site.

I'm a practicing school-based speech-language pathologist in California. I built this for my own caseload first, and I designed it not to collect student data because I didn't want to be responsible for student data.
